IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN.

When 1st December rolls around, the Christmas Trees are up, the Elf-on-the-Shelf is back making mischief, and it feels like the year has hardly begun! But here we are, suddenly sprinting towards the finish line.  

December is a time to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the coming year. It's a time to tie up loose ends, consider what you've achieved and set the stage for a fresh start in 2024.

Here are some strategies to make the most of the last month of the year:

 2023 - Almost Done

 1. Gratitude Practice:

It's been a tough year mentally, with so much of the world at war. Spend time acknowledging and appreciating the people, experiences, and opportunities that shaped your year and your opportunity to live in a safe environment. Gratitude helps cultivate a positive mindset and can be a powerful catalyst for personal growth.

2. Assess Personal Growth:

Consider how you've evolved throughout the year. Reflect on the lessons learned, skills acquired, and areas where personal growth occurred. This self-awareness aids in setting more meaningful goals for the upcoming year. 

3. Review Your Goals:

If you set any goals at the beginning of 2023, check how you did. Celebrate achievements and acknowledge what didn't go as planned, and if your goals were not S.M.A.R.T. or circumstances beyond your control impacted your success. Reflecting on both triumphs and setbacks provides valuable insights.

  

Tie Up Loose Ends

1. Finish Uncompleted Tasks:

If there is anything you can tie up this year, get cracking! Tackling these loose ends provides closure and prevents them from spilling over into the new year.

Amidst the holiday rush, prioritise self-care. Whether it's through meditation, exercise, or engaging in hobbies, allocate time for activities that rejuvenate and energize you.

Embrace moments of quiet reflection. The Festive Season can be very busy and draining! Journaling or spending time in nature can help you unwind, gain perspective, and prepare mentally for the upcoming year.

The Christmas season offers an excellent opportunity to reconnect with friends and family. Nurture these relationships by spending quality time together.

2. Give Back to the Community:

Engage in acts of kindness or volunteer work. Contributing to the community spreads positivity and instils a sense of fulfilment and purpose.
